Barbara's Story
I've lived in Illinois for almost 40 yrs now -- yikes - could that be? I've spent a career in marketing -- strategic consulting and writing. Still working for Blue Cross/Shield, but plan to hang it up soon. I've traveled the world and hope to do a lot more soon.
My two sons are strong citizens, husbands and fathers of whom I'm quite proud. Scott, a database director for a large healthcare organization lives in Seattle with his wife Rachael and two sons; and Brad, a history teacher, lives in Geneva, Il with his wife, Vida and their son and daughter. Bicycling, skiing traveal and reading are my greatest pastimes and I've almost always been involved is some social, political or community organization - serving on boards, working to get decent people and legislation eleceted/passed. I'm a member of two bicycle clubs and am happy to have ridden a century. Now days I typically ride 40 miles a day, several times a month.
Afraid I've put two men in the ground (it's not me), but Don is my current partner and we've been together for 6 yrs. sharing our lives, families and what's to come.
