Barbara's Story

I only went to Glen Alpine one year...MY SENIOR YEAR! I was terrified to be at a new school, but soon made many wonderful friends. Lena Taylor placed me in the senior play, where I was constantly scratching fleas..how I had the nerve to do that I will never know. I have 2 wonderful and kind sons. I'm very proud of them. Sometimes I catch myself looking at them and wondering where the little boys went...and who are these grown men? My oldest son has two daughters. They are in dance and the oldest has already won a beauty contest. He 'thinks' he is in control since he's the only man in the house, ha. My youngest son has 2 boys and a daughter. He had never wanted a daughter till his little one came along...now he says everyone should have a d...Expand for more
aughter. My daughters-in-law were both expecting at the same time, therefore I have two 3 year olds, two days apart. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep during that time. What is the saying, Rejoice and Multiply? I love spending time with my grandchildren and they love book stores. How lucky am I? That is one of my favorite places also. I graduated from ASU. I loved teaching but am now retired...or at least I think I am??? Although I am a widow, of 15 years, my days are very full. I still rise early, just to smell the sweetness of the morning air. I have far too many flower beds. I use to devote a great deal of time to them, till the grandchildren came along. Guess it isn't hard to figure out where my priorities are now.
