Life
My name was Barbara Hicks. I graduated from Hicksville H.S. in 1967. I went to Albany State for nursing but left after my second year. I got married and had 4 kids before I was 30. I graduated from nursing school in 1975 and spent the next 30 years or so raising the kids with my husband in Northport, where we moved from Hicksville in 1979. re on the golf course. We have 12 grandchildren. They are the most fun. We spent our time cruising and enjoying friends and family. I still run most days and like sewing and reading and all kinds of activities. I ran my first marathon in 2008 for Team in Training. It was something I never planned on doing, but somehow got involved in and it was a great experience and I was so proud to have completed it. I lost my wonderful husband of almost 42 years in 2010. I work hard at living the thought that Happiness is a Choice.
