Barbara's Story
Life
After High School I married and divorced John Burwell. WE have 3 great kids. One son John Burwell Jr. and two beautiful daughters Elizabeth and Rachel Burwell. John and his wife Robyn have given me two adorable grandsons. Wyatt is 5 and Clayton is 3 and they have me in the palms of their little hands. My girls are still single and not looking to add to our clan anytime soon, but I can not wait until they do. As of Aug. 2007 my daughter Rachel and moved to Abilene, Texas to join my son and his family. John has been in Texas for 3 years and has just bought a home. We hope that Elizabeth with follow us soon. At Thanksgiving my son and daughter in law made the announcement that they are expecting another baby due to arrive in late July. I can not wait I love being a Grandma. Update my Granddaughter Storye was born on July 15, 2008 and she is just so pretty. Just like her brothrs this beautiful little girl has me wraped around he little finger.
Workplace
I work for the Rio Linda Union School District. I am a Lead School Cook of all things at one of our local Schools. I really enjoy my job and the kids are all just great at my school.
Life in Texas
I love it here and I was not here two weeks before I got a job. I am a Head cook in the Abilene School District. It took time getting used to they way they do things since they really cook from scratch, but I love it and I love cooking. Left my job with the school district here. I am the Manager of the BrookHollow Contract Postal Unit here in Abilene. I changed positions in Sept. 2009. I had been just a part-time employee and this was to go along with my job at the school district. When last Sept. the job opened up and I jumped at it. It is great as I love to talk and the people that I see everyday are just wonderful. As of March 2013 I moved back home to Rio Linda. All my children and Grandchildren are all home to California and the Rio Linda area, I have 6 grandchildren. My daughter Rachel met a wonderful man Ty and he came with a ready made family so she has 2 sons Keaton 12, and Dregan 11, and a daughter Stormie who is 10. we have a wonderful time me and my children and my grandchildren. so happy to be home but I do miss all my friends in Abilene, Texas and would love to go back sometime soon to visit.
I AM HOME..... Moved home in March I missed Rio Linda, my Family and my Friends.. My Son and his family and my Daughter and her family and mother-in-law to be all moved back. we all Love being home and catching up with everyone, I really Missed my Mom she has always been my Rock. ...Expand for more

2015
I moved to Valley Springs with my Sister and brother in law for a year. It was the best year ever my little Sis and her family are awesome. In June of 2016 my son asked if I would come visit and keep a eye on the Grandkids for the summer. So I jumped on a plane and headed to Hudsonville (Grand Rapids) Michigan. While visiting they asked if I would stay and help them with the kids and be the Nanny Granny so I did. I loved Michigan boy is it Green and wet. I headed back to California to get my belongings and Car and say goodbye to my Sister Jody and Family and my Mom. My daughter Elizabeth helped and did most of the driving as we headed to settle me in at my sons house in Michigan. At Christmas my daughter Rachel came to visit for a month. Ina March my sister Jody called with devastating news that our sister Tammy had past away and it shocked us both. We started making plans to move back to Texas everyone was excited. Rachel made the move back in April. May 2nd I had my second hip replacement surgery and all went great. John and Robyn and kids left Michigan the first of July for a family reunion for Robyn's family in Colorado. I stayed behind and waited for the day our movers was to arrive. They had been gone not quiet a week when we had a bad storm which produced a Tornado so I was headed for the basment aloe in the dark with my flashlight as I heard the tree snap in the backyard. I was lucky but the power was out for the next week and all the food was lost n the fridge. Lived by flashlight at night ate hot oatmeal and bounced betwen Burger King and WalMart for my other meals. The day arrived for the movers to show up and load our stuff and my car and they did it during another storm but not tha bad. Then I got the News my flught had be canced not good since the house was empty. So American Airlunes was wonderful and put me up in a 5 star Hotel and paid for a taxi to and from the Dury Inn and set me up to leave early the next morning first flight out. So I arrived in Texas before noon and found out the kuds came back to a huge mess. Their house was destroyed they had it rented out and they had problems with the tenants. So basically they had to gut the house and star over again. We lived in a Motel for a week before we could move in with it not being competely ready and the movers showed up what a mess. But here we are and the kids are working and working on the house as well as the kids back in school. With everyting we have been through Life is Good and God is Good.
