Barbara's Story

I hope they remember me as a good friend who was always there for them. I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right. If I need to blow off steam then I go for a walk or talk to a friend. I have always found that getting things out helped me tremendously. I was never a "wild child" in school so I am not sure how to answer this. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a smile, a friend, and a cup of coffee to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My hero is my mom. She has always been there for me and I could not ask for a better role model. My inspiration comes from the Lord. He is my rock! We moved around a lot when I was younger, but since I have been living on my own, I have primairily lived in the Greenville area. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Tiffany Johnson, because we were such good friends in school.. My obsession is life. I want the most of my life. I love my life. It is not great by many standards but it is good for me. I have been blessed. My biggest surprise is the fact that I am single and have a child. Every girl has that dream of a husband and children with a white picked fence. I only got part of that, but there is still the future to live. Time will tell. If I could imp...Expand for more
rove my home, I'd remodel the entire house and add on a deck and pool. My dream home would be my own. I am a single mom. I currently teach elementary school computer classes. I also tutor at the college that I am attending to further my education. I am much like I was in high school. I have this optomistic and hopeful attitude. Some would say it is somewhat naive, I prefer to say that I still believe in looking at the glass as being half full. Don't misunderstand, I do not live in a dream world, I just choose to dream in the world I am in. Sometimes our dreams are all we have. My goal in life is to provide for my family and to live by my morals. This may never bring me great wealth but at least I will always be able to sleep peacefully at night. My life as a parent has taught me to look at things in a different light than what many do. Daddy Mack was my support when I was in high school. He always believed in me and encouraged me. His family was dear to me and I would love to see them all again. If I won $100 million, I'd give $50 million of it to my mom, then spend the rest on house, car and a very nice vacation. My current age is 35. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old and settled. I was so completely wrong. I share my home with a child, a dog, and two cats, which I find adventurous.
