Barbara's Story
After I graduated from Cooley, I went to Highland Park Jr College for a year. I then got a really good job at Burroughs Corp. I worked there for a while and then got a great job at Sinai Hospital. I got married for the 1st time in 1974. Had a daughter in 1978 and we all moved to Louisville, Ky in 1979 and I've been here ever since. Got a divorce and worked at a Ford car dealership. Met my 2nd husband there. We were only married for about 2 years and got a divorce. I went to work at a Lincoln/Mercury dealership as a Service Writer. While I was working there I went out with a friend of mine to have a drink for my birthday and met my 3rd husband. That is it, I promise. I got married in 1989 and divorced in 1998. r me. I am totally happy being single. I finally realized I didn't have to have a man in my life to be happy. I have dated some, but not much. I have had some good jobs and stayed at them for quite a while. Two of them I was permanently laid off, got unemployment for a while as the job market was pretty bad. I am now working at a company called Medassist and I've been here for 5 years. I am receptionist and I love it as I'm a people person. My daughter, Shannon just turned 30 on the 4th of Feb. She is married to a great guy and they have given me 4 grandchildren that are the love of my life. I attend a Methodist church every Sunday and sing in the choir. I guess that is what I've been doing since graduation from Cooley.
