Barbara's Story
Life
I have been living in Quebec since I left Sydney in 1962, and I will soon be living in Ottawa. I am retired after teaching high school history, economics and other subjects for 25 years.
I have 3 children, two girls and a boy. Of course I am now a grandmother to 4 lovely grandkids. I enrolled in McGill University after arriving in Montreal from Drummondville, Quebec where my husband had been working. I had been teaching at a private business college in Drummondville. At McGill I completed my B.Ed. In the 80's I wanted to study again so I attended Concordia University where I earned...Expand for more
a BA in History. I love to read and still study history.
Since retiring I have taken courses in fine woodworking and have built tables, etc. My husband John is from Ireland so we have travelled often to Europe, as well as to many other places. I try to get home to Cape Breton each year, but most of my family now lives in Halifax. I have one sister, Nancy Seury, living in Westmount.
I am enjoying my retirement and we spend 6 months a year at our our summer cottage in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. We recently began spending 4 months in Florida for the winter -- love that sunshine.
