Barbara's Story
Life
Graduated from Florida Atlantic with a Bachelors in accounting. Was a CPA on the audit staff of Price Waterhouse, Ft. Laud. office. Then hired by the Arvida Corporation, became controller for commercial/industrial division. Got real estate license and joined Arvida sales/marketing team - commercial/industrial. Left Arvida after 11 years to work in commercial real estate in Savannah, GA. in 1990. Was married to Jay Cronk for 16 years, divorced in 1986. No children except four legged fuzzy ones. Got into sports in my early 20's - competitive water skiing for 8 years, then hobie saling, snow skiing, wind surfing, bicycling, and now golf - who knew??? has two grown, married sons, so I now have 4 grandchildren. Grandchildren, the easy way. They are really alot of fun!!! Have been very involved in Rotary for past 10 years. We have been host family for 3 different international college students whom we still stay in touch with. We love to travel and will visit them and their families this summer in Europe. My husband and I are self-employed (commercial real estate, what else). It's working great from the stand point of slowing down without having to completely retire. We have the grandchildren spread out in Boca and Portland, Or. so we need time to visit. Currently have 4 cats, live on a small fresh water lake and enjoy cocktail cruises with friends and neighbors.
