Barbara's Story

My family and I lived in Gun Hill Projects. Life was really great there, my sister & brothers & I all had great friends. My dad was very strict, so we weren't allowed the freedom like most were, but I think we grew up very responsible adults because of it. My first love was Terry Deesse. I think every girl in the neighborhood was crazy about him LOL. His Mom decided to move the family to Puerto Rico, when Terry was just 16, and that was so heartbreaking for many of us. A few years after that I married a guy named Walter Clements, and remained in New York, but in Manhattan. In 1969 we moved to Florida where my Mom was, and later divorced. <He was not for me>. ly loved Florida from the moment I got off the plane, and I am now celebrating 39 years here. In 1982 I met the man I will call the love of my life, and we married in 1983 and divorced in 2001. <That was very hard, but today I am single and happy.> My brother Jay lives close to me here. My sister Carol still lives in New York, with her husband of 43 years, with her three children and 4 grand children, and we visit each other a few times a year. We are very close, and she is one of the most important people in my life. If you think you know me, you can email me at bara724, on AOL.
