Barbara's Story
Hi, all.
After Bolton graduation I went off to LA Tech for the summer then switched to LSU in Baton Rouge. I spent two years in Landscape Architecture before deciding on a degree in Art. I finished that degree at Louisiana College. I actually use both now as I am certified as a Permaculture (look it up) teacher and practitioner and a spinner/weaver/knitter, etc. I have 4 grown children, 3 boys and a girl.
Travel is one of my loves and I spend a lot of time in Australia. Northwestern Western Australia is my favorite place. I spent two weeks in Scotland one year setting up a loom at the Scotish Tartans Authority and doing some research in ...Expand for more
their wonderful old books. Tartan is what I weave most often. I have ancestors from the Canary Islands and have spent about 10 days there. I must go back!
I have no more family in Alexandria but always drive around town when I am passing through. A lot of good memories there.
I live in Northwest Arkansas now. My husband and I have 80 acres, all but 2 of which are woods. Our water comes from a spring close enough to the house that half of the year we can hear it with the windows closed. One day last spring I saw 22 bald eagles in one tree and 3 others in another, all about a mile from the house. I don't miss close neighbors or traffic.
