Barbara's Story
I miss the good old school days, not a thing to worry about, except homework, making sure my makeup, hair, and dress were just right for school, dating, going dancing, just having a good time with my best friend, Wanda (Lockhart) Monaghan (she is still my best friend to this day), and make sure I get home on time. Do your remember your curfew? I remember the time I came home late from my Junior Prom, and my father embarrassed me by pulling from the car and trying to spank me in my "gone with the wind" evening gown. Believe me I was never late again.
My favorite teacher was at Terrell Wells Jr. High, not at Harlandale High, he was my Algebra teacher, Mr. Snyder. He was the most patient person I very met, and a great teacher.
I started working as soon as I graduated, working as a carhop to the corporate world as a secretary to supervisor. I was what you call "working alcoholic", I even worked two jobs before having my 3 children.
If I had the chance to do something differently, it would be to go to college instead of getting married so young. Don't get my wrong, I am married to the same person for 45 years this year (2010).

e the meaning of life, laughter, and the greatest part of all, the love of one friend to another, she was always there when I needed her, even to this day. We keep in touch by phone since we live so far apart or when we fly to see one another.
My husband, Al, and I have been to 2 class reunions in the pass (our children attended one with us), but I cannot remember the years we attended. I remember we went to a picnic at a park and had a group picture made, dancing, eating, and I loved the atmosphere of seeing old friends and introducing them to the family.
I hope that any school mate that remembers me, will be surprised to know I'm not as shy as I use to be, I even talk now; and talk, and talk and talk.
We have lived in San Antonio, Baytown, Houston, Canyon Lake, TX.; Grand Cane, Mansfiled, LA; Oklahoma City, OK; Hermiston, OR; and Richland, WA.
I presently live in the state of Washington, with my husband, with the beauty of mountains, cherries, apples, and vineyards (you become a wine drinker), and great weather. You would be surprise of how many people live here that are from the GREAT STATE OF TEXAS.
UPDATE: My best friend, Wanda Faye (Lockhart) Monaghan, went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2011, I will truly miss her.
