Barbara's Story
Life
I've traveled extensively, national and internationally. I was divorced, but later married John, my 'forever'. We have been married now for 30 years. We have one daughter (previous marriage), two granddaughters, and a good son-in-law.
I am thankfully in good health, still work full time (with hobbies), and still plan things for the next 5 years. I am pushing to be around until at least 100.hahahaa I was able to have my Mom in my life until she was 83 years old...we were best buddies until the end. God has been faithful in my life, and I still strive to be HIS servant.
The greatest surprise for me,was making the decision to move to the Bahamas. It was a business decision, but still a surprise. We travel there back and forth.
My Mom always told us that there are several things we will 'never' know about ourselves...in advance. These are things we have no control over.
(1) how we will grow old...
(2) what disease is growing in our bodies...
(3) and, what catastro...Expand for more
phe is lurking in our future.
So, we need to Live, Love and Laugh, and enjoy each day that God sends to us.
High school for me was the beginning of my preparation to adulthood. In those
days I believe the schools did just that. Our education could not have been better. It molded me, and made me focus on what I needed to do to be a valuable
citizen to myself and family. It was a fun place for me to be Every Day, and of the many things I enjoyed was the athletics. I was honored with the 'Girl Athlete' for the class of January 1954. I still today try to stay fit and healthy.
It would be wonderful to know how all of you have been doing. I am sure with
all of your experiences, we could write a book, (best seller). We must try to be in contact with each other, and if possible, put together a gathering. There
have been reunions (I am told), but not enough of them.
I would wish for everyone that this year (2010) to be the best.... of all.
