Barbara's Story
Life
I went to the Brooklyn Hosp. School of Nursing and graduated in 1956. Enjoyed nursing very much and retired in 1995.
I moved from Long Island to upstate NY in 1968 where it was more relaxed and certainly less congested!!
My first husband and I divorced and I remarried a great guy in 1977. My second husband had a dairy farm and this city girl became a full-fledged farm girl, milking cows and learning all the aspects of farming. I continued to work in nursing during this time also. ny years and then worked for a drug rehab program (Daytop Village) for 18 years.
I have two sons and a daughter and they all live nearby.
My husband is presently in a nursing home due to advanced Parkinson's Disease and dementia. It has been a difficult time for me but, as they say, life goes on.
I visit my brother in Desert Hot Springs, California a couple of times a year. (He is a 1951 John Adams graduate).
I have one granddaughter, Bethany, who is currently in college.
