Barbara's Story
Life
My husband Mark and I have lived in Europe since 1970. We moved to southern Spain 11 years ago when we retired. Our children all now live back in the US spread from coast to coast.
We are returning to the USA in December 2008 - South Carolina will now be home.
I am going to miss living by the sea but I guess you can't have everything. It will be great to be close to family again. My sister and daughter will only be a few blocks away.
2009
Our move is now complete and we are fixing up our new house. We now have a big yard too so I will be gardening.
June 2009 - Things are going...Expand for more
smoothly and I am a day mom again. My grand niece Norah (9 months) is keeping me busy. We've had short visits from all our "kids" but hope to have most of the family this Christmas.
December 2009 - My husband Mark suffered a stroke just after Thanksgiving so things have changed for me quite a bit. Have great support from my family and we are hoping he will make a good recovery.
May 2010 - I am home bound now caring for Mark. He is physically and mentally incapacitated and requires care like a new born babe. I am still hoping he will regain some memory and speech but it is slow going.
