Barbara's Story

Life My Pets I am without pets at this time. Both my furry friends have left this life. Right now too busy to take on another. But I will, in a few years. My Kids My daughter, Beth, is an Art Therapist working near Detroit, married to a fine young man, John, who is a lawyer. They live close enough to me that we see each other about once a month. My son, Rich, is driving the US Mail, married to Lisa, and lives in Greater Cleveland. We talk often. My Job I pastor a small United Church of Christ congregation in a small town (725- really!) in central lower Michigan. I have 139 members and am kept quite busy. I love my job, but have many quiet nights and miss having old friends around. It is a joy to be a part of the liv...Expand for more
es of my people -- from birth to death, and all of the stops in between. My folks I still have my mother and my step mother living in facilities about 12 miles from here. My dad died recently, and I miss him. But I consider myself lucky to have them into their late 80's. I would love to see Mrs. Govan again. What a great person. To be truly happy, I would be at the shore, enjoying the sun and seafood, with someone special. I am widowed and still miss having a companion to share life's joys and mishaps. I never expected to be widowed at 49. Leaves a lot of life to be lived without a partner. I have lived in Cleveland, Lorain, Lancaster PA. Livonia, MI and Tekonsha, MI. Moved for job transfers and to attend school.

This is Edward, who went to Dog heaven today. We love him and miss him. Rich and Lisa are so sad tonight. May our God be with all of us this night.

I was sent this and it really spoke to me.

Thank you, God, for this beautiful day!
The cold gray skies of November. Wicked lake today. But no Canadian geese on my watch!!

My Dad with my brother sitting on the running board. Foley, Alabama. Thank you for serving, Papa.
The not so colorful sky and lake!
This was the rough Lake Erie we circled while waiting to land. There was a wind gust of over 50 knots and we kept flying waiting to land. Happy to finally land with only a few large bumps!
