Barbara's Story
After college I moved to Los Angeles with my then spouse. Short marriage. Became a paralegal at The Legal Clinic of Jacoby & Meyers, one of the first legal clinics in the country. I attended Loyola Law School at night, graduating and passing the California Bar in 1981. In early 1982 I married the love of my live, and shortly thereafter we moved to northern California. Jim was in the Navy at the time, and we were stationed at the Concord Naval Weapons Station. After Jim retired from the Navy in 1988 he began working as a physicians assistant in a dermatology practice in Antioch, California. We moved to Benicia, and have lived here for 32 years. in Danville, California in 1982 and have been there ever since. I resigned as a partner in 2012, thinking I would quickly retire, but now it is 2015 and I am still unwinding my practice. Hopefully I will be finished by the end of the year. Jim retired two years ago, and is now busier than ever with golf, wood working, and our family. Jim and I share four children, his two sons from a prior marriage, our daughter Katie, born in 1985, and our bonus daughter Tamara who became part of our family when she was in high school. We now have two grandchildren, Jiah, age 19, in college at the University of Nevada, Reno, and Jack, age 2.5. It has been a wonderful, always challenging ride.
