Barbara's Story
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass ... it's about learning to dance in the RAIN!
I like to do spur of the moment new adventures along with organized events. I love the outdoors and camping. Music is very much a part of my life. I love to sing, listen to music, dance (tho some moves may not be recognizable dance moves lol), play a little piano and I still have my flute. I enjoy movies, sports (to a point), going out , staying in, simple things. Still have my 22yr old boy at home.
I love to laugh! Motorcycles are awesome tho I am still a bit nervous as the passenger and someday would like to learn how to ride.
This picture of me is one from 12/05...........I am not blonde, tho at times you might think me so! Ok will try to update pic soon!
I used to work in management/accounting. Currently I drive a schoolbus. My kids have been the main focus of my life. As they have left the nest our relationships have been growing on an adult level, but I am still their Mom and available to talk (somehow they now think I am smart...lol).
When I talk about loving the outdoors, I LOVE a good thunderstorm. Ever stand out in the rain, letting the cool drops run down my face.......mmmmmm! I get excited over seeing "things" on a walk even if I have se...Expand for more
en them 100 times before. I also like writing poetry.
In addition, I like to volunteer for stuff.... have had to learn to say no at times. On occassion I cook for the homeless. Went twice to Appalachia to help repair homes (kind of like Habitat for Humanity). IT WAS HOT AND VERY HARD WORK. In all my kids have done this for a combined 11 times.
Wow 2013 already! I have 3 grandchildren. Sadly the 2 older ones moved to Alpena MI and the trip is too long for a weekend. Thank goodness for the internet so I get to see pics as they happen. Some of you may have known my brother Fred who graduated in 1968. He died last November, the third in my family in 3 years. I have not remarried but have dated an interesting man the last 1.5 years. I am going to North Carolina, first vacation in years!
Vacation In North Carolina was GREAT! We plan to do a family type get together vacation like that every 2 years. Next i believe will be in CA. I sang Patsy Cline at karaoke and got a standing ovation (cause it was Patsy...not me...lol).
I am recuperating major surgery and feelin good. Guess at our age, many of us are hitting these situations. Thank goodness for modern medicine! Well I am tired of being indoors so i am out to enjoy the autumn! :)
