Barbara's Story

I married early and had three sons then went to college as an adult. Taught English and Composition for 21 years in a Catholic high school. Retired at 60 and am enjoying travel, the grandkids and working on our fiftieth reunion to be held in November 2011. I like to read, quilt, talk to friends, play beweled, solitaire, do crossword and jigsaw puzzles. I want to see the Grand Canyon, a gorilla in the wild, ride a zip line, see the Western coast of Australia. Stay healthy to enjoy each day. Just read a great book by Jeff Talarico called The Ginseng Hunter. I always wanted to be a teacher and mother when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good /good idea. As it turns out, they were right about both plans. I love to sit on the beach and watch the waves, drink cocoa in front of the fireplace while it snows, listen to my grandkids laugh, spend...Expand for more
quiet time with my honey, cook for my family, and clean out closets. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my father, because I really miss him sometimes and would love to spend oned 24 hour period with him so he could get to see his grandkids and greatgrands and I could take him to his mother's childhood home and he could meet the little girls cousins who grew up into lovely women. and he could visit with his niece in Seattle and visit places he also read about as we fly across the world without limits of time and space.. If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to charities, then spend the rest on travel, family and friends. My current age is 66. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be much the same. I was so completely wrong. sleeping in the sun on my mother's bed with my giant panda bear, feeling safe and loved
