Barbara's Story
Finished West High School in 1954. Worked in Waco, married Ed Dulock, and we made 2 girls and 2 boys. Ed was
transferred to Beeville Air Force Base. I attended Bee Junior College and graduated with a Degree in Dental Assis-
ting and Office Mgt. Moved to Victoria, Tex, worked for Dr. Beekler, Oral Surgery, as his Personal Assistant for
11 1/2 years. Than my daughter and I owned The Tackle Shack in a Strip Mall and it was a hit. After 5 years we
had to sell and moved to Arlington, Tex. where Ed had his work. Hi retired and we moved to Missouri, where one
of our daughters lived. This is where my life really changed. Ed was diagnosed with cancer and died in 2004.
January, 2005, doctors implanted a Dyphibralater in my chest for my heart. In the fall of 2006, I moved to the
country with my daughter and in August I broke my back clearing thorn bushes. Had it repaired and some months
later the doctors found I had another vertabra b...Expand for more
roken and was also repaired. In May, 2007, I was extremely ill, had
surgery on my lower back and it was serious. Doctor said I probably would never walk but exactly a year later I
was able to lift my feet and lots of therapy and I walk. I have 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. I moved
to Independence, Missouri, where I have a nice apartment with my cat and me. I adopted her from Petco and did
not know what kind of cat she was. She was ugly and I thought she was older. She has since been growing
and looks nothing like when I got her and found out she is a Bobcat (has a short tail) and still growing.
I am now 5' tall, weight 105, and wish I were 35. I love my crafts, especially doing photo books. I want to move back to Texas but have no idea where or how. I have a daughter in New Braunfels, and son in Goliad.
I have had a very full life and never had time to be bored. It has been busy and still am.
