Life
My now pic was taken (top up!) in October 2010.
I know I DON'T deserve it, but,thanks to our Lord, Jesus Christ, I've been so fortunate to have an INCREDIBLY BLESSED LIFE!
My life has been filled with the highest of highs and deep ugly lows, YET it's been ONE BIG THRILLING ADVENTURE (sounds like Magic Mountain, no?!) that I wouldn't change anything! God has been with me through it all, and will continue to be, so what more could I ask for? I work as hard as I can and help as many people as possible, but the bottom line is: I still have LOTS to do, with A LOT more people to help, and EVEN MORE to learn all the while!
MY CURRENT STATS:
1) MR. OYAMA RE-PROPOSED on Nov 10, 2010 ~~ our 27th Anniversary of when he FIRST proposed ~~ He admitted to being a complete FOOL (he used other words that I don't think I can post!); he couldn't bear the thought of me being with someone else; and that he's never loved anyone one but me & can't live without me... OK... yes, I fell for it, hook line and sinker! :-) (And the 3 carat diamond ring had nothing to do with my answer...)
2) Kids continue to be amazing! Silly to call them KIDS because my youngest will be headed to college next year! Britt is engaged to be married next November & is doing well as the Catering Director for Palos Verdes Golf Course; Breck graduated from Berkeley a few years ago and enjoy his bachelorhood working for a law firm in Beverly Hills; Derek is happily married to a beautiful young lady and they are ecstatic to be NEW PARENTS!!! Yes, I'M A GRANDMA!!! Kyle is enjoying his 2nd year at San Diego State; and Kamaron will graduate this year and head off to the university life next year... I'm incredibly proud of them all!!
3)ABOUT ME PERSONALLY: I spent most of my early years from the time I was 5 years old, thoroughly enjoying my music career (some of you may remember) & was very blessed to meet and perform with some amazing people and travel to some fantastic places. As our kids got older, traveling was too difficult, so I decided to put my music career on hold and join the "corporate world" of The Los Angeles Times in 1992. 4)NOW...I've gotten back into my "music thing" for fun - focused on writing vs. performing. You can hear some of my originals and check out a few more pix if you go on the web to myspace music and look me up under "mizbarbio".
I also spend time supporting the High School because of Kyle & Kamaron. I enjoyed a few years as the President of the High School Choir Booster organization ~ the students & their parents are a blast to work with!
5) I ALSO...spend a lot of time investing in stocks & real estate. We are very blessed to own properties here and many other states. I really enjoy traveling, golf, cars and anything that I can do with my family. The kids are at a really cool age now ~ we can go out and do a whole lot more together as "big people" without worrying anymore about diapers, formula, car seats, etc.
6) As part of my "new future plans", I've accepted the position of Sales Director for Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, CA. I have been blessed with the opportunity to train and develop counselors who help families understand the value and importance of pre-planning their funeral arrangements. This is probably the most satisfying job I've ever had next to raising my kids!
7) THINGS I LOOK FORWARD TO:
i. Continuing to see my kids transition from HAPPY, HEALTHY,SUCCESSFUL kids to EVEN HAPPIER, HEALTHY, EVEN MORE SUCCESSFUL adults ~ on their own ~ finishing their education and becoming amazingly interdependent.
ii. Enjoying a 2nd round of success in my music career. You can check out my music on Myspace. And since classmates won't let me publish a website name, try going to the Myspace website and then adding a forward slash to the myspace website name plus a forward slash and mizbarbio.
iii. Enjoying my new career with Rose Hills Memorial Park!
v. That amazing moment when I'm with the Lord for all eternity (How awesome that will be!)
