Barry's Story
Barry Cooper currently works one-on-one with everyday people on career changes, resumes, cover letters, writing projects and small business projects. He is the founder of the original blackvoices.com and is considered a pioneer in new media and social networking. He conceived blackvoices.com in the late 1990s and secured $5 million in funding from Tribune Co.
Shortly afterward, he and his team signed General Motors to an $8 million marking alliance ¿ still the single largest advertising contract in the history of Tribune Co. and the largest ever awarded to a website targeting African-Americans.

A frequent speaker and consultant on new media, Barry has garnered numerous honors, including the 2000 Manship Award from Louisiana State University for ¿exemplary use of media technology to advance the cause of news and information in society.¿
In 1999 he was was cited by AdvertisingAge as one of ¿the 20 most influential individuals in interactive media and marketing.¿
Barry also has a deep background in traditional media, and has directed the digital operations of two daily newspapers.
Today he is a consultant in digital and print media and is planning new media business start-ups in both print and online.
