Barry's Story
Life
After graduating I went to work with Davidson County EMS and worked as a paramedic until 2000, when I laterally transferred to Davidson County Sheriff's Office where I supervise the Marine and Game Enforcement Unit. Spend the majority of my time either in the woods or on the water. Love this job and looking forward to retiring in a few more years. Married to the former Beverly Wagner (also in class of '82) in 1987. We have two children Ben and Anna. As always, spend most of my free time hunting, fishing, or experimenting at my reloading bench with different loads for hunting coyotes and varmits. Update!! Just resign...Expand for more
ed from the Sheriff's Office and will be moving to the Division of Motor Vehicles as a License & Theft Investigator. I am thrilled that I got this opportunity. Getting too old to fight drunks at the lake anyway!! Update to this facet of life. 2010 promoted to Lt and transferred to Charlotte to supervise seven county district. 2011 promoted to Captain over District 6. 2012 transferred back to District 5 Winston Salem, supervising investigators in Forsyth, Davidson, Rowan, Davie, Yadkin, Surry and Stokes Counties. 2013 planning my retirement!!! Hopefully will be hanging up the gun and badge in late 2014 or early 2015.
