Barry Sampel:

CLASS OF 1960

Barry's Story

After Beck, I attended UWO and obtained a BA in 1964. I then articled at Clarkson Gordon & Co. and obtained my Chartered Accts. designation in 1967. During that time I married a girl from Sudbury, Linda Lora, and we have 3 children; Carrey, Kelly and Kevin. As of now we have 6 grandchildren and think that's all there's going to be! I've remained in London, and have lived in Byron from 1970 until 2017, when we moved to a Condo near the back end of The London Hunt Club. I worked for Revenue Canada until 1981 and from 1981 to my retirement in 2003 at Labatt Brewing Co. Ltd. where I was a tax manager. Linda and I are enjoying our retirement. used to spend Nov. and March in Myrtle Beach, S.C. but haven't done that for several years. I'm a serious but very poor golfer! We've travelled to Alaska, the Rockies, Italy and a River Cruise over the past few years. Our next trip will likely be either to the UK or a river boat trip in continental Europe. I really don't have much contact with any old Beckites, but do have breakfast every month or two with Bill Cox. I get some Beck news from Bonnie Beer(Spencer)who is in a sorority with Linda. My health is excellent, considering my age, and have no real issues .Looking fwd to matching George Burns and doing something significant on #100!! Best wishes to all for 2018 and the future.
