Bart's Story
Life
I have not lived in Arizona since graduating from college. I retired from the Air Force in 1998 in Washington DC. I worked on Capitol Hill for four years at the House of Representatives. I was the manager first of telecommunications, then managed all the technical support, and then managed application support for mainframe and enterprise applications. I then spent 2 1/2 years as Manager of Customer Support (Technical) and Director of Information Systems at the White House. I have now returned to the Legislative Branch at the Go...Expand for more
vernment Printing Office in an SES position as Director of Operations for the CIO. It involves directing and coordinating all end user support, infrastructure, networking, data center, and all related projects. It has been a tremendous challenge since the entire infrastructure was fairly antiquated just a few years ago. I love challenges like that. I was Acting CIO when I decided to take an early retirement in 2011 and move away from the stress and winters of D.C. I am enjoying great weather and great friends in southwest Florida.
