Bart's Story
Life
Hello, CHSers. Here's my
abbreviated bio/life story.
After CHS, I attended UC San Diego,
graduating in 84 with a B.A. in
Communications/Visual Arts
I then moved to Hollywood to find
a way into film and television work. I
worked on TV shows as a
production assistant where I eventually
met my future wife, Cathy, who was an
intern. We married in 86. Cathy is
from Ohio and for a period of time
I entertained going into advertising at
Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati. We
moved there in 87 and while waiting
for a P&G opportunity, I worked as a
freelance producer and director for a TV
production company. Around 89 I began
some serious life reassessment --
wondering what the hell I was doing in
the midwest while all of my friends (including CHS alumni Eric Zumbrunnen) were
kicking ass in Hollywood. After
constant prodding from CA friends, I
moved my family (now with kids,
Christopher & Caitlin) back to Calfornia
in 91. I then began working as a
freelance producer for L.A. production
companies. Since 1991 I've been
producing & directing music videos,

ercials, documentaries and several
television shows in the L.A. area. We
had our third child, Sarah, in 94. I've
been very lucky since moving back out
here. We live in Irvine, California
where there are great schools, low
crime, and an overall great quality of
living.
Since 1997, I've been nominated for 3
Grammy awards, having finally won in 1999 for a video I did for Korn. I love
the work I do because I get to do
projects with great musicians & artists.
I've worked with Nine Inch Nails, Janet Jackson, the
Smashing Pumpkins, Beck, the Red Hot
Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, Foo
Fighters, Metallica, the Offspring, Korn
& others. I've done commercials for the
Gap, Priceline, Mountain Dew, Miller
Beer, Ikea, Sun Microsystems, Toyota, Hewlett Packard, Visa, VW & more.
In 2006 I was one of the producers on the film Little Miss Sunshine which did well at the box office.
Currently I am working on a feature length documentary on legendary radio station 94.7 KMET (everyone remember them?) -- and I am hoping for the film to be released sometime in 2010.
Later.
