Beckie's Story
Life
Still in the area but a bit north. Have been in Thurston County since 1984. REALTOR since 1990, with RE/MAX Parkside in Olympia. We have been in our new RE/MAX Building just south of Falls Terrace, facing the Tumwater Falls Park for about 5 years.
After high school I went to Centralia Comm. College for 2 years, lived with Annie Neer - partied way too much for someone going to college and working 2 jobs. Went back to CCC in 1986 & 1989, and to SPSCC 1993-94. Anytime I am not working I like to fly fish, river raft, swim, river tube float, go to the beach, go wine tasting, go hiking, go dancing, and travel as MUCH AS possible. I bicycle, love to boat and kyak. I'm working my way through the top 100 PNW hikes.
I try religiously to go to the Valley and work out 3-5x a week, the older the harder to keep it uphill! Oh man is it ever, prefer doing something real, outside but in the PNW that is not always an easy option.
Socialize a lot, you know me, it's never changed. I have been chatting with my friends during whatever (I wasn't suppose to be chatting through) since kindergarten and it continues today.
My mom is still with us, but moved from Napavine to Toledo, as anyone who went to school with me knows I lost my dad 1st day of 9th grade! My sister moved south from Federal Way and is in Toledo, with her born and raised Toledo, WA husband, and my mom (I know, yikes the oldest gets to live with mom). My nephew Eric is in OR (Harley Davidson mechanic) and my oldest newphew, Troy died in 1991 (saddest year of my life).
I'm a statistic and divorced after almost 20 years. Have had a new relationship for about 16 months to a guy a tiny bit younger and am having a really good life with him. He's a keyboardist/piano player in a classic rock band and one of those really nice guys - the rare one's who are F...Expand for more

School
Biggest crush - I can't tell you, but all the girlfriends knew. He was super quiet and very smart & tall and his sister was in my class, does that help?
Teachers who inspired me, none at Pvine sorry. But in elementary 6th grade, hands down, William Snyder. Best teacher I ever had.
Would I do it over? Yes, differently, but yes. I loved high school and I had a blast but there are always regrets, you are learning through trial and error.
College
Unique room mate. Oh my god, the girl who worked with Teresa and Kim at that restaurant in Centralia, forget her name but she had this horrid cat who would just run around scratching the curtains and making it a danger zone. She was scary. Kelly Haslett was my room mate in Centralia apartments for a long time then Annie Neer while we were at Centralia College. Poor Annie, I use to make her these mixed drinks before the college dances and we were always broke so it was whatever we had mixed with kool-aid and she'd grimace as she choked it down. We lived on top ramen, hot chocolate and government cheese. If it were not for her parents giving us butchered beef, we might have starved. We also froze because we were too broke to turn on the heat, we'd bundle up in blankets and watch tv, shivering. She also lived with me in that hole in Salzer Valley trailer park - where the unique ladies lived next door with 10 dogs or some crazy thing. Lots of fun! Some studying.
I always wanted to be a personal dresser when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a cool idea but not a good way to make money in WA idea. As it turns out, they were right unless I moved to a big city.
