Becky's Story
Life
Where to begin ... I graduated from Mansfield University of PA with a degree in Music Education. I also earned my masters at the Crane School, SUNY Potsdam. After MU, I started teaching Instrumental Music in a small upstate NY school district. I decided to switch gears and ended up taking a vocal job at Owego Apalachin, which is 15 miles from my home town of Endicott.
I married my good friend from high school, Mark, in April of 1992, and we have two beautiful girls - Molly Lynne (6/97), and Raegan Lorayne (2/07). They're my miracle babies, as I was diagnosed with systemic lupus in 2003 and told I couldn't have chi...Expand for more
ldren (keep in mind that Molly was already 6 at the time). I never was one for following directions and doing what's expected ;) Some days are a real challenge dealing with the SLE, but life gets boring if it's too easy. We also share our home with a variety of critters, including geckos, ferrets, and several snakes.
I'm currently teaching General Music grades K - 5 in the Owego Apalachin school district, and loving it!!! It's a job where I feel guilty getting paid since I have so much fun with my coworkers and the students. I teach classroom music for the entire school, run 3 choral ensembles, and two handbell choirs.
