Becky's Story
This will be a quick bullet point review of my life.
After graduation, I worked for my dad's publishing ministry, lived in upstate New York for 1 1/2 years attending a Bible School, lived in London,England for 9 months and Norway for 1 month in '72 & '73. Married in 1973 to Greg X Volz. We were worship leaders at my dad's church. Then he became the lead singer of Petra which took us to Nashville in '81. We have four kids, 3 daughters, 1 son and 9 grandchildren now.
We moved to Orlando FL in '91 after Greg started his solo career. I worked there as an agent/manager for models and actors including my kids. I freelanced in television production for a short while then worked for Walt Disney Imagineers. Got divorced in '97, moved back to Springfield in '98 to take care of my mom and her home. So, I've come full circle.
I have a granddaughter at Hillcrest who is in Color Guard so I'm doing the Band Boosters thing, going to competitions, sewing flags, going through the teenager-raising...again.
I am on facebook if you want to look at pictures. I'll take time someday to upload them here.
I'm on the Board for the Woodland Heights Neighborhood Association and keeping an eye on the changes on C-Street.
My oldest daughter is an actor in LA, my middle daughter is a Pampered Chef director here in Spfd and my youngest daughter is an RN at Cox South (spfd) in L&D. My son is a so...Expand for more
und engineer.
I am self-employed, still working for my dad's publishing ministry, and taking on jobs and projects that come my way. I have a hard time saying no when someone needs help.
I have tired a number of Network Marketing companies (to maintain my self-employed status) My favorite, and current, one is Xango.
And so it is...the years of my life condensed to a few paragraphs! :)
England Recap:
I was in London in the fall, winter, and spring (Norway was a month of that spring) '72-'73. What reminds me most of London is the early morning (the rare times I'm actually outside shortly after dawn.) There's a special smell to the break of daylight and the beginnings of the work-day traffic. I used to walk from my apartment to the 'tube' and from my destination station to my office building on Reagent Street, just a short walk from Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. The weather was never 'bad' and the fog was disappointing..the famous London fog, didn't see it much. Driving on the left side of the road was an adventure and I loved it. Absorbing the centuries of history was fascinating to me. I went from downtown London to a dairy farm in Dorchester to be a nanny on a dairy farm. It was a great time, I really didn't want to come back. I hitch hiked my way to Scotland, then took a ferry to Ireland where armed soldiers lined the streets. It was sobering and amazing.
