Belinda's Story
I lived in Kettering, Ohio for my first 18 years & graduated from our beloved Fairmont West High School in 1976. I then moved to the sunny South â Mobile, Alabama â to attend the University of South Alabama. After graduating in May 1980 with a degree in French & English, I taught 8th grade English lit. My college sweetheart & I married in 1982 just as he was entering med school. I taught for 10 years & then "retired" to raise my two sons. My husband Mark is a family-practice physician in Mobile. Traveling is my favorite hobby! I love the Caribbean islands (not cruising, though), New York City, Las Vegas, and New Orleans. I also enjoy staying busy as an advisor for my college sorority Alpha Omicron Pi. I spend a ridiculous amount of time watching football (college & pro), following the Atlanta Braves, attending sporting events for my University of South Alaba...Expand for more
ma Jaguars, and playing with my 2 Labs. Without a doubt though, my 2 sons are the joy of my life!
I look forward to coming "home" for future reunions. I attended (my first) our 35th in 2011 and had such fun!! Didn't think more than a couple friends would even remember me, but I was happily wrong! It was wonderful catching up with so many friends with whom I'd lost contact all those years. Many of us now keep up through Facebook and we've even met for mini vacations/dinner while passing through each others' cities. I feel blessed to have gone to Fairmont West & to have met such a great bunch of life-long friends.
