Belinda's Story
Hello, its been a good life . I have two children ages 24 and 18, a boy and a girl. I also have step-children who are also pretty cool. They range in ages 26-16. I will always remember the small town atmosphere in which I was surrounded by , and also the good simple times at Rio Hondo High School. "Go Bobcats!"
I did complete a post-secondary education, and I earned a masters from Sam Houston State University. I am a practicing Christian and for those of you who remember my brother Charlie Ortega, he also is a practicing Christian. We are only here for such a short time, and I truly believe, we must make the most of it, and try and follow the teachings of Christ everyday. We may fall short, but by his grace, we are saved.
I have been an educator for the past 27 years, and I think I may work for another ten years. As long as I can contribute positively to the public school setting, why not?
I have continued to care for my mom who some of you may remember worked at in the high school cafeteria. She suffered from a closing aorta, and she also suffered some major complications. She now lives close by me, and I and my husband Stan Klein take very good care of her. She is...Expand for more
a blessing, and I thank God everyday for her extra time with us, since we came very close to losing her.
I guess I have always been a person who treasures family, education, the word of God and love of ones country. Our family still has the family farm, and we try our best to take care of it. Our grandparents bought the 40 acre farm many years ago, and we still have it in the family. (Thank God for that)! So, eventhough me and all my family have followed careers and dreams which have taken us away from Rio Hondo, and out into the "big wide world" we still have that little connection to our past and our youth.
I have been traveling alot now with my husband and we enjoy visiting with my family and his from all over the United States, especially in Arizona and California. Now, I am patiently awaiting what the next ten years may bring, maybe a daughter- in- law a grandchild, a son-in-law, a grandchild, Maybe a new direction in my education? Who knows? I just know I will never sit still; I will always keep going. As long as my health is strong, I hope to accomplish and reach new goals in my life. To me that is what life is all about, learning, growing and changing, evolving.
