Hello, its been a good life . I have two children ages 24 and 18, a boy and a girl. I also have step-children who are also pretty cool. They range in ages 26-16. I will always remember the small town atmosphere in which I was surrounded by , and also the good simple times at Rio Hondo High School. "Go Bobcats!" I did complete a post-secondary education, and I earned a masters from Sam Houston State University. I am a practicing Christian and for those of you who remember my brother Charlie Ortega, he also is a practicing Christian. We are only here for such a short time, and I truly believe, we must make the most of it, and try and follow the teachings of Christ everyday. We may fall short, but by his grace, we are saved. I have been an educator for the past 27 years, and I think I may work for another ten years. As long as I can contribute positively to the public school setting, why not? I have continued to care for my mom who some of you may remember worked at in the high school cafeteria. She suffered from a closing aorta, and she also suffered some major complications.
