Bernadette Haney:  

I am an instructor of English at Long Beach City College. I COMPLETED MY M.A. AT CSULB in The Revolutionary Period Literature in England, with a special emphasis on the poetry of John Keats. I also have completed a TESL Certificate. I am currently looking into different schools to get my PhD, I am planning on studying Celtic Myth. I had hoped to go to Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, but finances did not permit that. I looked at Claremont or the program at Pacifica as an alternative. I applied at UCS, UCLA, and UCI instead. I am married to my best friend, Mica, since June, 2002. In 2009 I gave birth to my son, Dimitri, who completes me! I also write poetry, fiction, and essays, and am looking into getting some works published. I am an avid reader, and my reading often informs my writing. I feed on Tolkien in addition to Keats, Blake, Coleridge, Wordsworth, and Mary Shelley. Charlotte and Emily Bronte have also inspired my writing. Current books in progress: An interpretation of Emily Bronte's Bertha. Somehow Jean Rhys's Wide Sargasso Sea made me sad. I see Bertha as a strong, passionate, and wild woman.
