Bernice's Story

Life I'm very much a family person and enjoy times with friends new nad old, listening to calming or "oldies" music, reading, sports, theatre (especially the new renovated Genesee in Waukegan, IL), going to museums to visit unique exhibits like Sue and Cleopatra at the Field in Chicago. I also belong to our local American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary. Last Christmas, we collected food for the needy and had it distributed to those families. I have a wonderful husband; been married 22 years as of 6/15/07. Have one lovely daughter, Barbara, who is a senior at Bradley University studying to be a media attorney. She has had 9 stories published in the local newspaper, as she originally wanted to be a journalist full time. She also has poetry published on the Internet. She's very special as is her step-sister, my husband's oldest, Mary Kristin. She is 32 years old with 4 children, another on the way, living in Missouri. I am retired after 16 years with Abbott Labs and TAP, having worked 2 years contract at Hospira, now unemployed for the moment. I would love to work at home, but need to find something that is not a scam. I would like to write in my spare time, as I love it, it's so soothing. I have had poetry published in International Library of Poetry and hope to write a novel one day (it's started, just taking quite a bi...Expand for more
t longer than I planned). Also, love to type and that's what I'd love to work on part-time from home. Anyone out there have anything? I can type accurately at over 100 w.p.m. and love working on the computer with all the latest Microsoft products. I had a pet cat, Boots, for years, but she unfortunately died with cancer. Haven't replaced her, but hope to one day. She was such a great friend and pet! It's great to know how many blessing God has bestowed upon me and my family. Anyway, that's my update for now. Well, enough of me. Hope anyone who reads this will get in touch. Take care everyone! Bernice School I really did not like my shorthand teacher when I first met her in high school. I took the class because I wanted to be a secretary like my big sister. I always wanted to be just like her and felt she was a really good secretary; so I could do it too. Well, I not only learned to love shorthand, getting straight A's in the class and carrying it over to this day in almost everything I do for short notes, etc., but I really learned to like and respect my teacher very much! She cared, and that was why she pushed so hard to get her "kids" to work so hard. And she was an excellent teacher. I learned a lot from her, and will always remember her as the high school teacher of the year in my book.
