Bernie's Story
Its been years since I thought of those twelve years at Santa Clara. Hard not to be reminded though when the whole Cabrera Clan was there it seems like for centuries.
After Graduation I found my self in the Army of all places who would have thought.
For 30 years I served with our nations sons and daughters what a great life.
There were times I might have seen one or two of you at Santa Clara on Sunday during visits back to Oxnard but as the years have gone by well my vision is not what it used to be.
I retired from the Army in San Antonio TX and moved to Houston. It was a partnership and it was awesome to know that you could serve your country and still find a job especially when you only worked at Taco Bell after...Expand for more
school. The business boomed and was sold in 2003.
After that I became self employed doing remodeling and restoration. Theres been great days and days when peanut butter and jam were the main course.
To all of those who started out in Mrs Chatmans class in Kindergarten through our senior year at Santa Clara I bid you a fond hello and may our paths cross again
Well now there is so much more.
I am now the international compliance director for a Wind Energy Company out of Brazil. I have been back on the road since 2008 traveling to europe and across the US. I love this job what a great life. It does get tough travelng for months at a time but I have experienced so much more than working within 4 walls LIFE IS GOOD
