Bert's Story
I’ve lived in San Francisco since 1972, working in Engineering/Construction for 30 yrs, then migrating to urban planning, renewable energy/electrification, & active transportation advocacy. I founded Bicycle Commuter Services in 1996, and now provide expert witness in litigation, safety education, and video production. I currently serve as First Vice President on the Board of Directors of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District, providing regional bridge, bus & ferry services for the NW Bay Area; I Chair the SF & Cal...Expand for more
trans Bay Area Bicycle Advisory Committees, and maintain active membership in various non-profit environmental advocacy organizations. As a ‘Climate Reality’ advocate, we have converted our home & transportation to near ‘Zero Net Carbon’.
Lorna & I recently celebrated 47 years of marriage together, with our two sons’ families & four grandchildren here in SF & Marin counties. For decades we traveled and vacationed with Dean & Sue Bjornson until his death in 2021. When in Seattle, I sometimes see Paul (Randy) Ballard. when I visit Seattle
