Bert's Story
Life
Hello everyone!
My High School nickname was "Buddy". I've had another name (aka) for the past 30 years. This in keeping with my co-profession. Music and Entertainment. In school, I played the drums. That has not changed, but has expanded into a long list of related activities.
I am still performing. My band (Gene Vincentt and The Cadillac Cruisers/Roadhouse Horns, has performed with,
or opened for 350 plus National Star Acts.) Some of the
highlights include, opening for and performing onstage
with The Beach Boys in OC, Little Richard and Frankie Valli on MPT'S " Rock, Rythmn, & Doo Wop", Fats Domino
at Peir 6 Baltimore, Sha NaNa at Painters Mill Theater,
and "The Wolfman Jack" Show. I've also apperared at The
Cavern Club in Liverpool England (Birthplace of the
Beatles), New York City with Brenda Lee (just a month
after 9-11) and many others, like Chuck Berry, The
Mama's & PaPa's, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Fabian, Danny &
The Juniors, Just to mention a few.
I wrote two news columns for the Balto. paper
from 1977-80 and hosted my Sunday night radio show on
68 WCBM,..."The Legend of Elvis Presley" , have now
appeared on TV some 120 times and had my own cable TV
show for awhile.
Most recently, we have performed the concert series at The OC arena/convention center with all the
big names. This New Years eve 2007, will be our 6th year
there.
I've appeared on National TV shows (series), done
a movie, and have a film production company. We are currently filming a documentary about the birth and
origins of Rock & Roll in Maryland. The film is named
"Rockaphonic". After it's local premier, a copy will go to the Maryland Historical Society and then on to inter-
net sales. My most recent CD has sold nicely.
Thirty Four years ago, I expanded to performing
as a vocalist, also play guitar, bass, and keys.

All of this under the ' re-spelled' name of one of
my early rock idols...Gene Vincentt. ( 2 t's) I appeared
in Las Vegas, New Orleans (Burbon Street) and Hawaii.
Prior to The Cruisers, I performed with a variety of well known bands. In the high school years, it was one of Maryland's best know bands...' The Rockin'Aires'.
We did all the CYO's and dances in Maryland.
Enough about the entertainment career, except to say that I have not slowed down at all. We are already booked for all of 2008. The Cruisers is a 13 piece band
featuring my 5 piece horn section. (Photos will be added
soon, to this profile).
I have 2 children. Tracey and Ryan. Tracey has been a teacher for eleven years, has a Masters degree, and performed as a singer, dancer. actress in some 500 productions in Maryland. Ryan had a four year College scholarship and has nine years in computer programing,
and has his own band, and recordings.
My thanks to "George Arnold", The Kenwood Band
conductor and teacher who gave me my start. And God,
who for some reason allowed me to know the level of sucess that has taken me from Baltimore to Hollywood, and all around this great Country.
I served 2 years in the military during Vietnam,
attended College and have been an Insurance professional for 30 years in addition to my entertainment career. I have also been a
promoter for these years, bringing shows and acts to
major arenas, OC, and many outdoor festivals.
I would enjoy hearing from my school mates. (all of my photos, when added ,will be recent within five years). My best to all of you...Bert "Buddy" Zimmerman/
(aka) Gene Vincentt & THe Cadillac Cruisers/ Roadhouse
Horns" Maryland's opening act to the Stars". My phone
number is public domain...(410)686-6264.
God bless all and the USA!
