Bertha's Story
I moved to Cleveland in 1980 two years after graduation. This has been my home for the last 32 years. I was married to Phillip Bossie and had two kids with him, We are now divorced and he died on November 5,2011. I remarried in 2000 to Demetrius Holliday and we have a 11 year old daughter who is now in 6 Grade. My older kids are grown. My son is 31 married and has a 9 year old son. So yes I am the grandmother of two. My son graduated from Bowling Green State University with his Teaching Degree . My older daughter graduated from Cleveland State University and is working in Virginia. I am working as a Headstart Teacher working with 3-5 year old children, preparing them for kindergarten. I do working with kids. I also have my home daycare business where I
care for children in my home in the evening and weekends. I attend a mega church by the name of Mt. Zion of Oakwood Village.My Pastor is Rev. Larry Macon a truly anointed man of God. I joined this church in 2000 after marrying my new husband . I truly enjoy worshipping at this church. I have made lots of new friends in Cleveland. I normally come home to Alabama about twice a year. I come to visit my mom and sisters and brother. My Dad died about 8 year ago.This was a very sad time for me and my family.
