Beryle's Story
Life
After leaving high school, I began working in various clerical/ administrative support jobs in hospitals. It has been my life's work to find ways to make patients and staff around me feel cared for, comforted, inspired and supported. 35+ years later, its still what I'm about.
I am also a performance poet and have written 3 books. I've been guest poet at performances at Kwantlan College, Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, Chapters Book stores, a Survivors Benefit and other events. Individual poems have been published in journals, newsletters in both Canada and the U.S. Google my website "Bhavani Devi's Garden of Bliss" for a sample of some of my writings.
Never married, I am a "professional Auntie" to 13 nieces and nephews and "Great Aunt" to two adorable great nephews and two delightful great nieces.

I am proud to do volunteer work at BC Persons With AIDS both as a Shaman/Healer and as a resource person. Living + magazine recently ran a feature article on me and my Shamanic Healing practice. It's on the net if you look up Beryle Chambers.
No, I am *not* HIV+. However, I have great compassion for and a deep need to reach out and to try to help make the lives of those suffering in our community more bearable.
