Beth's Story
Life
After graduating from college I started working at NJMRC and have been there ever since. I manage an Inflammation and Immunology Core Lab for MDs who also have clinical research projects. I ran 10K races for years and also participated in the Colorado Heart Association Heart Cycle, a 1000 mile bike ride in 10 days for cardiac research. I started taking TaeKwon Do classes while training for the bike ride to keep my joints loose and ended up with a 3rd degree black belt and a husband (a 4th degree black belt from the Philippines) before life turned to raising kids. ne boy (one boy/girl set of twins). We also now have a 3 year old grandson. Three out of the 4 kids got into competitive soccer and that has run our lives for about 15 years. One daughter ran track and gave true meaning to "eat my dust".
Colorado living is great, although it's getting hotter in the summers and not as cold in the winters as it used to be. The mountains are a great retreat and a welcome getaway from the real word. We have 3 cats, 3 dogs (shepherd, rotti, shiba inu), a python and fish as pets. We're all avid fishermen (minus the pets) and still stay as active as possible.
