Beth's Story
After graduation I worked for 1 year at the Jupiter Department Store on Warren St., Hudson, NY. I then decided to apply to the Albany Business College, Albany, NY. I was accepted and graduated in 1967. I went to work for the Hudson Register Star, Hudson, NY as a Type setter for the newspaper. In 1968 Edward and I were married. Four month's later he entered the Army and was stationed at Ft. Dix, NJ. He was sent to Vietnam for a year and I spent that time with my parents and family in Germantown. We lived in Georgia, Louisiana, and Colorado Springs during his tenure in the US Army. Came back to Germantown, NY after he was discharged. Edward started working for the IRS in Poughkeepsie, NY. In 1973 we were blessed with a son, Scott. This is when our life changed, once again.. We moved from Germantown to Grand Junction, CO. Edward accepted a new job within the IRS. ck to NY and ended up in Syracuse. I decided to go back to college. I graduated from the Bryant and Stratton Business College, Cicero, NY in 1986.. I worked for the Prudential Insurance Company for a time and then decided to apply for a US Government job, I accepted a job with the Department of Defense, Defense Contract Management Agency in 1987 thru 2009 as an Executive Secretary for three Administrative Contracting Officers. I also held jobs as a Procurement Technician, and in the final year's I was the Security Representative at the DCMA facility and Reimbursable Monitor for Government Contracts.
Edward and I divorced in 2007. I retired from the US Government 5 years ago (2009) after 22 years with the Department of Defense in Syracuse. I moved from Syracuse to Greenville, NC, to Aurora, CO. I'm in the process of locating a new home of some kind. I'm sure my son will be glad when I do. hee! hee!
