Beth's Story
After graduating from WAHS I went to George Mason University where I received my degree in Psychology. Came back home to Crozet and began working at a halfway house for non-violent offenders; after the residence closed for lack of funding, I began working as a Probation Officer in Charlottesville. I worked for the great State of Virginia for 13 years as a Probation Officer in Charlottesville, Henrico and most recently, Chesapeake. eace with that. My sister has three children, two boys and a girl, and I moved to Chesapeake to be closer to them. While here I met a Navy man, John, who became my best friend and then my husband (married in 2007), making me an instant step-mom to a 23-year old daughter, and two sons, 21 and 9. Imagine my surprise when I found myself pregnant at age 37. I had my first (and only) child in September of 2007 - which is why I did not make the reunion - I was eight and and half months pregnant. My son, Ben, who I call my happy little accident, is my favorite thing in this world and I can't imagine my life without him.
My husband will be retiring in about four years after putting in 30 with the Navy and I may go back to work then, but for the present, I'm enjoying my job.
