Betsy's Story
I guess I lost touch with everyone from High School after I went off to College, but I've wanted to reconnect with so many people, so perhaps this is the forum to do it! In the words of Jerry Garcia "What a Long Strange Trip it's been...." I'll skip the past 30+ years and get to the present: I currently live in Fort Worth, TX with my husband, Shawn, and I work in Sales & Marketing, as a Proposal Manager. Most of my career has been in publishing, technical writing, and freelance editing and proofreading. However, I also kept my passion for music (thanks Mr. Pullen for your great Choir instruction!), and for 17 years have performed in various bands/ensembles at venues, festivals, and concerts around Texas and the surrounding area. ture Irish, Scottish music, and the like. I also organize major music events of the Celtic genre, such as the N. Texas Irish Festival. Additionally, I do volunteer work for the Rape Crisis Program of Tarrant County and other victims' acvocacy groups.I never had children, but my brother and sister were blessed with 2 girls each, so I frequently enjoy wonderful times with my beautiful nieces. Ironically, my brother, Doug, still lives in our old stomping grounds. He was in Seabrook, but lost his home during "Ike" and he and the family recently moved to League City.
I have fond memories of my time at Clear Creek and although '72 in particular was a rocky year for me, I remember the support and loyalty of some very special people. I'm sorry that we lost touch, but life sometimes takes us on unusual journeys.
