Betsy's Story

Life Update Dec 2007. My life in a paragraph, whoa! I can honestly say in spite of or because of traveling a rugged road, that God has blessed me. I live in the Pacific NW; my husband of 28 years died suddenly this past April and my mother continues to live with me. Our son, Willie, lives about an hour or so away-he will soon be a dad and I'll be a grandma. I've been a late bloomer..late to marry, late to be a parent, graduate from college and settle down. I'll be a late retiree too; it looks like. PS -a few years later...June 2011..I'm enjoying my grandma status; dating again; still working and retirement will happen this fall. I have a bucket list and look forwar...Expand for more
d to learning some new things. 2013 Update; retired from social weork but not tired..volunteering at a social service agency one day a week; have a part time job teaching water fitness and have a music business; my singing partner and I entertain at assisted living facilities. Our last trip to the moon was smooth althought the food was, well, cheesy. The kids complained all the way through zero gravity but were better after the attendants offered them sedation. Once there, we enjoyed the sights and bounced around from place to place. Since we've been back my husband sez he noticed a constant shadow on the left side of my face but my coworkers don't seem to notice.

THE HOUSE

The house seemed larger
when Daddy and a friend
tore down a parlor wall
In the house his grandpa built.

The house felt warmer
When oil instead of coal
displaced the giant furnace
In the house his grandpa built
Still working. Western AZ
