After graduation my family moved to Warner Robins, Georgia, just off I-75 in the middle of the State, and I stayed behind and worked the summer months at Brookley AFB. Mary Margaret Miller and her parents so graciously opened up their home to me for over a month until it was time for me to fly to Georgia, join my family in our new home, and get ready to leave for college. I remember how terribly difficult it was emotionally to leave Mobile and precious friends behind. I believe I grieved over many years for the "normalcy" I lost because of having friends (family you choose) have to move with their families all over the USA and realize, except for hope they will come to a reunion, that you may never see them again. Over the years I lost touch with most of them as we entered the years of "growing up and being parents ourselves"! I attended Judson College in Marion, Alabama and then married. I have two grown children who live nearby and I have a six year old granddaughter. What a joyous time it was to attend our WP Davidson 35th reunion, in 2000, and get to actually hug so many friends from my childhood!!! I was widowed in1998 and after many years of singlehood, I have been dating a former classmate. OOPS! Now I have said that out loud!!! Even though I can be retired, if I want to, I prepare the business taxes for my children's wholesale business and sometimes make deliveries (drive a van) if they need me. I keep my granddaughter sometimes (such fun) and spend time with family as often as we can all get together. I spend a lot of time with Allen Hargrove since his move to middle GA.
