Betty's Story
College
After H.S. graduation, I went to Capital U. in Columbus for my freshman year, majoring in music, (cello, performance, of course). I transfered to Bowling Green State U. in Ohio for my last 3 years and got my Bachelor's degree in Music Performance. I went on to get my Associate degree in Nursing in 1987, and went on to get my Masters degree of Science in nursing ,,1997 from U. of Illinois at Chicago. My major is a specialty in Maternal child/Midwifery. I worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife in San Diego, which I had been doing so for the last 23 years since 1997. Presently I create original jewelry as a hobby and plan to pursue as long as possible. My Etsy shop is called UniqueandMacabre!. Instagram: Iltbe1956. I have worked as a professional cellist in orchestras form Ohio to Detroit, MI. But now work as a Certified Nurse Midwife at the largest HMO in CA. , Kasier Permanente. I deliver babies, and provide ob/gyn care. We do what the the Docs do, except we don't care for medically complex patients, and consult with them if needed. We work independently. I have been there, (San Diego, CA.) since 1997. I have 3 children! Lauren is 35 lives in Walnut Creek, CA and finished her Masters in Science of Counseling/Now work as a therapist counselor in N CA and getting married 1/14/23. Andy is 34 and works and lives in southern CA and Joel is 31 an incredible guitar player finding his way , working and getting back into karate. . I retired 4/1/2020 and we built a home in Delaware Ohio . My Mom just turned 97!! I do dislike the grey skies of winter in the Midwest! Spoiled living in S. CA. Might turn into a Snow Bird!
