Betty's Story
I'm living in Northeast Bakersfield (toward Lake Isabella). My husband Chuck and I moved just last October, 2007, from Whittier, to a new home in a great retirement development. Joyce Goff Bumgarner and her husband, Dave, came to see us last month all the way from Arkansas. They were visiting their daughter Sonia (our God daughter) who lives in Bakersfield, too.

t-time job with Lowes. We hope to retire in the next two or three years.
Our two sons are 34 and 29. They still live south of L.A. Neither are married and we have no grandchildren. The oldest is a chiropracter and practicing in La Habra. The youngest is "walking" in a few months. He's a math and physics major but is thinking he might become a youth counseler.
I'm enjoying being a senior citizen -- most of the time :-). It beats the alternative!
