Betty's Story
Life
I went to work full time in October, 1968 at Jackson Steel Service. Our plant was purchased by Worthington Steel in 1985 and closed in 2003. Suddenly I was "retired" after 34 1/2 years. I did work part time at Terry Tool & Die for a year or so, left to help care for my sister in her battle with breast cancer (she died on May 31, 2005). I worked for 9 months as ...Expand for more
a temporary employee at Consumers Energy and I haven't worked since! Lucky for me I had sold my home and moved in with Jerry in 2002. I now live in Hanover, Michigan with Jerry Krause, a fellow graduate. We enjoy car shows and travel around the country. We also have a winter home in Eagle Lake, Florida and have loved being out of the snow and ice of Michigan.
