Betty's Story

This site is so boring... I know some of us '66 Billies must be doing something-- or at least have done something-- really entertaining to share with the rest of us! Are we all so old? I just went through the Great Napa Earthquake, that ruined millions of gallons of some of the best wine in the world. We are grieving! So, if you are a collector, this year's Napa harvest will be very expensive! It was an early harvest and a dry summer, so I think those little grapes were stupendous. Funny thing is, I don't really drink, haha! I spent a decade being a wandering hippie-- I have lots of good stories from that time. Then a decade having babies and trying to tame my husband, unsuccessfully. With two little girls to raise, I had to settle down in the '90s and teach, so things get a tad more boring after that. But now they are finally grown and successful on their own, so I'm working on making my life a little more outrageous again! Anyone want to come to Cali and find a little mischief with me, I'm game! Betty (Betty Ann, Maynard, Hester, etc.) meliaarhrt48 on FB Betty is from Williamsville, New York. She is single, now living 30 minutes north of San Francisco. Her schools include Academy Elementary School. She later attended University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, Western Washing...Expand for more
ton University, and Sonoma State in California. She works(ed) as Private Tutor, specializing in students with dyslexia.. Betty's interests include teaching, music, reading, gardening and genealogy. Music she likes includes Peter Gabriel, Steely Dan, Gustav Mahler, . Books she likes include Cloud Atlas, 1Q84, The Psychopath Test: A Journey Through the Madness Industry, The Spook Who Sat by the Door (novel). Movies she likes include Brazil (1985 film). TV shows she likes include PBS/ Frontline, History, National Geographic. I am retired from a wonderful career as a teacher, mostly junior high-- they are crazy funny at school... a little secret parents don't know! Both my daughters graduated from Cal (Go Bears) and live in Oakland, close enough to make mommy happy. I live with my little dog and two cats who think they are dogs, too, in a classic California Bungalow with original Sears windows (homeowners will know what I'm sayin'). I had to go to Buffalo to see my Dad in March, but that was the only time I have touched snow in over 30 years! The Sierras are gorgeous in the summer, too! I never cared at all about the past until I turned 60... then I started to wonder, what ever happened to... ? I'd love to hear from old friends, whether I remember you or not (haha) and reconnect at this new stage of life.

Hum... Scruffy is suddenly a whole lot more affectionate! My little dog has had a terrible rash this winter. I thought it might be a flea allergy, but after making sure he had no fleas for a month, it just got worse. After
Finally! Someone gets it... letters-- if you are taught to read by letters-- jump around and flash on and off. Words are better, but small words are missed because of the flashing. For reals, this is what it is like to be d

Finally got some pictures of the house we built in Bellingham Washington. We used the Doug Firs on the property. It was magical, and I’m so sorry we had to leave. Life would have been different in Washington.
