Bev's Story

My Dad was military so we lived in Radcliff, KY from 1966 to 1970. I loved it there along with all of my friends. I went to Radcliff Elementary, Vine Grove Elementary for 6th grade, then North Hardin Jr. High. My mom was the Girl Scout leader for many of those years. But we got transferred to VA during 7th grade (1970) and I ended up graduating from Lafayette High School in Williamsburg, VA. My mom and some of my sisters still live in Williamsburg. Two of my younger sisters married guys from my class (Brenda - Ron Spivey, Barb - Michael Green (divorced)). I now live in rural VA and teach middle school special education!!! I recently changed jobs and am back to teaching high school students with Emotional Disturbance at Warhill High School in Williamsburg. I love my job even though the students are challenging! I have six children ages 23-33 and I have 10 grandchildren ages 9 to 2. I stay very busy teaching and spe...Expand for more
nding time with family. We love taking Caribbean cruises and we enjoy camping on the Outer Banks of NC every chance we get!! We spend a lot of time vacationing with our children and grandchildren. I love spending time at Hatteras (OBX,NC) - my "happy place" so I can get ready for a new school year or re-coup to keep going through the current year. I love Hatteras and usually spend at least 3 weeks a year down there. The past 2 years I have only spent one long weekend down there so I need to catch up!!! My husband, Jim, has been batteling cancer -- for the past year but is now cancer free. The Lord has sent many blessings our way! We are so thankful for all the prayers and especially our children - who have made sacrifices for both of us. Now we are looking forward to the future and spending a lot of time together and with our family and friends! Be thankful for all you have and don't take life or love for granted.
