Beverly's Story

My story....I was a wall flower in school. Didn't want to be seen. Dated outside school. Lithia Springs, Douglasville, Kennesaw. Was introduced to a very Handsome, sweet, gentleman from Texas. Love at first sight! Married Feb. 1968. Had a daughter in 1970, another in 1976 and moved to my husbands little small town in Texas to raise our precious girls. Had a good life. Had a thought that life was really good...too good and lost David Jan 1990. Heart attack. My girls were 20 and 13. It was sooo hard on all of us! Eventually dated..went thru the motions. Sept. 1997 met a prince of a guy! I had known of him for a few years. Sweet, gentleman. I couldn't believe God had blessed me with another great guy. We married Feb. 1998. The second night we were together he showed his true colors. Verbal abusive, walked on eggshell so I would'nt say or do anything to anger him and later I found he was seeing other women and when I confronted him about this he became abusive. After six years of marriage..shoved around and bruised twice. First time shame on him. Second time, shame on me for staying!! I had him arrested and during the 2 hours they had him locked up. With God's help,my youngest daughter and I hooked up the travel trailer to the suburban and grabbed what I could and left for Florida! Been Stupid Happy ever sin...Expand for more
ce! God & life is good!! Been with my job 26yrs they were very helpful in transfering me to Florida. Within 6 months after I moved, my girls followed. I have 4 grandchildren 3 girls and 1 boy! Sydney 14, Michaela 11, Aiden 3 and my newest Avery 3 months! They are all so beautiful! All of this has made me a very strong independent woman, but I am still the same kind and compassionate person I have always been! I met and dated a sweetheart of a guy dated for two years. Thought he was the one for the rest of my life. After she had left him and been divorced for 8 years, she decided she wanted him back. They had teenage children together, I couldn't compete with that. I do understand that he had to give her another chance to be able to continue his life, but it didn't keep my heart from breaking! It will mend again, just like before Someday maybe I will meet another gentleman to share life. If a man ever verbally abuses you, it's not going to change. Don't even stay around to see it become physical! I thought I was going to die the second time! I hope this story will give some women the strength to get out of any bad relationship! You can do it.......Thanks for reading! Favorite words! Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain! Sooo True! And I love to dance!
