Life
Hello everyone, it is hard to believe that I have reached the "Golden Years" I thought I would do it with a little more grace but here I am. I wish I could join you all in the class reunion with all the other classes but health problems at the moment won't allow me to attend but if things get better I would love to be there.
I have discovered the the most awesome word in the world and that is to be called Grandma. My son Joe and his wife Cathy gave me the gift of a life time, my Grandaughter Nicole who is turning 3 years old in a few weeks. She is beautiful ( spoken like a true Grandma) and incredibley smart.
My son owns his own business in Roseville. CA. He and his company have been written up in several newspapers as a business and important company to watch in the future and he travels world wide. He has several patents and others pending. This has to do with the computer chips that he develops. I told him he got those genes were definetly from me. LOL
I am very proud of my kids. My daughter Dawn lives in Houston Texas and earns a whole lot more money there as a nurse than we do here in California she and her husband survived very well though hurricane Rita etc, but I still worry.
Neil and MaryAnn Goodrich keep in close contact and stop by several times a year . It is so wonderful to have friends who keep in touch because we have so much fun remembering the "old days" and making new memories now. It was such a sad time when Ed Peterman passed away, he was a fine man and good friend and we spoke often. I do miss hearing from Judy M. and Penny Oh my what wonderful memories..we had.
Well I still live up here in the mountains of Mt. Shasta..the only place that I have ever really called home.
I am no longer able to do the kind of Nursing that I so dearly loved but I maintain my R.N. license until I find that special job or I recover from a few things that will allow me to do it. It has been 24 years since I have been back to Gilroy and I am sure I would really lost . ...Expand for more
I would love to hear from any of my classmates--many of who we spent from the 5th grade to 1962. I especially remember the times after school we would scrape together our nickles, dimes and quarters to give to Barbara Sosa for gas just to "drag main" after school. Wouldn't we love to have the gas prices like that now. So many great memories. I hope you are having a wonderful, happy and healthy life. I would love to hear fom any of you folks and I remember you all but being shy kept me from doing a lot of things. The Drama Club was one of my favorites as well as the school paper
I would love to hear from any one of you or from any of the other classes.
Your classmate of 1962,
Beverly Higgins-Lowary
Well here it is two years later and I am still here in the mountains waiting for that volcano to blow as they keep telling us, oh well we all have to go some time, I now have a new grandson in Texas. He is 10 months old but the size of a two year old. I guess they do grow things big in Texas. I lost my brother Steve last year he had a heart attack and stroke all because he wouldn't or couldn't stop smoking. I miss his frequent phone calls.
My son Joe is an avid mountain climber and getting ready to climb Mt. Rainer and has climbed in Nepal twice and as his mother I always worry but admire his talent
I would like to hear from some of my classmates as I doubt I will ever return to Gilroy but Neil and Maryann Goodrich show me lots of pictures of friends and the reunions when they stop by several times a year. It is so amazing that we have been together in school since the 5th grade and I joined Classmates just to find them and then found so many other friends from the past. Thanks to all of you whom I have heard from and I hope to hear from more of you. Judy and Penny, I would really like to hear back from you as it has been such a long time and I think of you often.
